Maldives Travel Package is an independent resource for travellers planning trips to the Maldives. We provide honest, practical guides covering everything from resort comparisons and cost breakdowns to visa requirements, activities, photography, and nightlife. We aren't affiliated with tourism boards or resorts (beyond affiliate partnerships that help fund this project). We write from the perspective of actual travellers who've visited multiple times and understand the landscape deeply.
Why we started this
The Maldives tourism industry is fragmented. Resort marketing drowns out independent voices. Budget options (guesthouses) get minimal coverage online. Cost comparisons are scattered across tourism sites that prioritize ad revenue over accuracy. Visa requirements for different nationalities are confusing. Seasonal timing matters enormously but isn't clearly explained. Solo female travellers lack safety-focused guides. Photography, diving, and nightlife have unrealistic expectations set by Instagram.
We started this resource because travellers deserve honest information. Not marketing fluff. Not hidden costs. Not gatekeeping. Just: here's what things actually cost, here's what the experience actually feels like, here's how to make smart decisions aligned with your budget and style.
What makes us different
Honest costs: Every guide includes specific prices (₹1.5–2.5L resort stay, ₹600–1000 beer, ₹20–30k scuba cert, etc.). We break down costs transparently. We don't hide markups or pretend things are cheaper than they are.
Practical depth: Our guides are long (4000+ words per article) because travel planning requires nuance. We go beyond surface-level "top 10 things to do" and get into actual logistics, common mistakes, safety considerations, and realistic expectations.
Budget options emphasized: Resorts dominate Maldives tourism, but guesthouses, local islands, and budget strategies exist and deserve attention. We cover all accommodation types and price points.
Cultural respect: The Maldives is 99% Muslim. We don't treat Islamic culture as exotic backdrop. We explain customs, etiquette, Ramadan implications, and modesty expectations clearly so travellers can respect local values.
Affiliate transparency: We partner with Agoda, Trip.com, GetYourGuide, and others. We disclose this clearly. These partnerships help fund the project. We recommend them because they're genuinely useful, not because commissions are higher elsewhere.
What we cover

We focus on serving travellers from India and Pakistan (visa holders, budget-conscious, familiar with regional travel context), but the guides apply to any traveller.
What we don't do
We don't book travel for you. We don't operate tours or resorts. We don't accept payment for recommendation placement. We don't claim expertise beyond travel guide writing. We aren't replacement for professional travel agents if you need hand-holding through every booking step.
How we research
We visit the Maldives regularly, stay at different accommodation types (resorts, guesthouses, local islands), try different activities, talk to locals and other travellers, and cross-reference information with multiple sources. We update guides when prices change or conditions shift. We acknowledge seasonal variations and honest tradeoffs (e.g., monsoon weather vs manta ray abundance).

If you find errors, outdated information, or have suggestions, contact us. We aim to be accurate and will correct mistakes promptly. Travel conditions change (prices shift, venues close, visa rules update), so please flag changes you notice.
